Day Trippers

I wanted to share a few pictures from some outings I've gone on with friends from Camp Zama.

Miyagase Dam - These mountains are near Camp Zama. In fact, the view that I love so much on Camp Zama is of these beautiful mountains.  The color of the lake is a spectacular blue-green!

Zoorasia - I wasn't sure I wanted to go the zoo without my kids or grandkids, but I had a really fun time friends. I liked this zoo because there was shade everywhere and the exhibits were all well maintained. The polar bear enclosure actually looked comfortable for a polar bear. There were a few animals I had not seen before - the dark blue pheasants with red eyes, the Tree Kangaroo, and the Mongolian Wild ass.

Gram for Giant Japanese Pancakes - I've seen these advertised but I had never tried them until last week. I loved them - I loved them so much I tried to make them at home. Nope, they didn't turn out. But I have not given up. I ordered some cake mold rings and I plan to make another attempt.
