Camp Zama Christmas decorations

I have been very happily surprised by the great Christmas decorations here on Camp Zama. Just before Thanksgiving they lit the place up!

Kimball and I go for a walk most evenings and its been fun to see the lights. It makes it feel a bit more like Christmas, although this year is going to be strange no matter what.

I know we are not alone in missing home and wishing we could be back in the States with our family to celebrate Christmas. I give the Army a lot of credit for their efforts to keep up morale and do what they can to add a touch of home to the base. For the kids and the grown-up haha! So enjoy these pics of Camp Zama Christmas lights.

Sagamihara Housing Area (SHA) is a base only a  mile or two from Camp Zama. Most of the people who are stationed and work at Camp Zama actually live at SHA. This year they held the official Tree-lighting at SHA (see below). The Army Band played Sleigh Ride (over and over and over) as they marched. There were also cookies and hot chocolate. Very festive!
