Christmas in Japan 2022

  It all made sense back in September when we decided not to buy plane tickets for Christmas. We decided to spend Christmas 2022 in Japan. We made some fun plans and we enjoyed seeing some pretty sights in Hakone - but it's just not the same as being home with the people you love.  So, here are some beautiful pictures of our Christmas weekend, but we would trade them in a heartbeat for pictures of us with the Fam for Christmas!  Dave and Susie Johnson had planned to be in Tokyo and spend Christmas with us, but due to a back injury Dave suffered they had to return to the US after only being in Japan one day. We hated to miss seeing them so when we found out they were leaving the next day, we dropped what we were doing and took the train into Tokyo to meet up with them.  We all had a great time catching up on kids and all the other adventures in our lives over the past 5 years! Christmas Wonderland - weekend in Tokyo

This weekend we went to Tokyo to see the Broadway production of Christmas Wonderland! We had tickets for the opening show on Saturday December 17th at noon at the Tokyu Theater Orb. It was quite the production - lots of singing and dancing and amazing sets and backdrops. Unfortunately it was a "no photography" type event so I don't have pics from the show, but below are a few taken before the show, at intermission, and after the show. (it was a completely sold out show so the empty seats you see are only due to intermission) They passed out Santa hats to everyone and everyone wore them! Poor dad has a large head and it was a little warm in the theater so he only wore his for the picture. The theater is located on the 11th floor of a department type store. The views from the large windows in the theater lobby were awesome. Something interesting is that after the show is over no one gets up out of their seats.
